Ajang penghargaan musik bergengsi terbesar di dunia, Grammy Awards 2024 telah rampung diselenggarakan. Digelar di Cryto.com Arena, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat, pada 4 Februari lalu, panggung Grammy Awards kali ini terlihat di dominasi oleh musisi wanita.
Tercatat, nama musisi Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus dan Victoria Monet mendapatkan multi penghargaan tahun ini. Taylor Swift berhasil membawa pulang 2 kategori sekaligus yaitu Album of The Year dan Best Pop Vocal Album di album Midnights.
Raihannya berhasil disamai oleh Miley Cyrus yang dinobatkan sebagai pemenang Record of The Year dengan lagu single-nya Flowers. Penghargaan kedua didapatkan untuk Best Pop Solo Performance.
Sementara itu, Victoria Monet menyabet penghargaan untuk kategori Best New Artist dan Best Engineered Album dan Best R&B Album untuk album Jaguar II.
Ajang penghargaan bergengsi yang disiarkan secara Live streaming oleh stasiun televisi CBS dan Paramount adalah pelaksanaan yang ke-66 kalinya. Dalam edisi kali ini pihak Grammy Awards memberikan perubahan yaitu kategorinya bertambah menjadi 94 kategori.
Menurut CEO Recording Academy, Harvey Mason jr, penambahan kategori merupakan bagian dari pembaruan dan perubahan lebih besar yang dilakukan pada Grammy Awards 2024. Melalui penambahan kategori, Grammy Awards diharapkan menjadi "lebih adil, transparan, dan akurat."
